Marble Cake With Chocolate Icing And Pirouette Cookies

Marble Cake With Chocolate Icing And Pirouette Cookies on Cake Central

This was actually a cake I made for a coworker's birthday, but I thought it might be a nice groom's cake too. I like this cake because it's quite easy to make, but when I brought it to work everyone thought I'd spent many hours on it!

The cookies actually stayed pretty well just stuck into the icing (it was fairly wet still). But the ribbon was definately necessary to keep them in place when it was being transported.

I love it. Is the design on top just a zig zag pattern? What size tip did you use? It really is a lovely cake you could use for any occasion.

The design on top is just a larger star tip in a zig zag pattern, but I'm not sure which size tip I used. Thanks for asking!

Thanks everyone for your nice feedback. I came back to add that if you decide to make this type of cake, the cookies are expensive so you'll need to plan accordingly. This cake is an 8 inch round. The cookies are the Pepperridge Farm Pirouette cookies and this took two tins with just a few cookies leftover. The tins are about $5.00 each, so I spent $10.00 just on the cookies alone!
