I coach field hockey and made a cake for my girls and for the soccer team for the night of their sports banquet. The base is vanilla pound cake with milk chocolate ganache and the soccer and field hockey ball is devils food with oreo cookie filling. The field hockey ball came out a little weird looking because I didnt have enough cake batter to fill the sport ball pan. For those of you who watch field hockey, the balls can be tie-dyed :) As for the soccer ball, I cut out the geometric shapes out of fondant and assembled on the cake.
