Paul's 90Th Birthday Shortwave Radio Cake

This was an 8-inch light white chocolate mud cake, covered in white chocolate ganache and fondant, which was then painted in food colours to resemble the stained wood grain of an old Zenith "Cube" Shortwave Radio from 1932. The client (my family doctor!) was in charge of finding the perfect birthday cake for her Father-in Law's 90th birthday...and the man has been a shortwave roadio enthusiast all his life :-) I made the replica dial from GP painted antique gold food colour, and the inside is handwritten on edible rice paper. The radio knobs are made of GP and painted also. Thanks for looking!
