This is a cake requested for a corvette enthusiast's birthday. This is a feeble attempt at replication of his actual corvette. The bottom tier is coconut cake with a coconut filling, coconut buttercream and coconut fondant. Obviously he loves coconut. The car is all carved vanilla sponge cake with banana buttercream and black/grey vanilla Satin Ice fondant. The figure is half gumpaste/fondant. This was LTOS of fun to make, but very stressful. Don't know if I'll be doing another car anytime soon!
