Made this cake for my dad a few years ago. He loves military planes. I wanted to make the plane out of fondant, but did not have the confidence to try it. If I had to do it today, I would definitely give it a try. The runway is fondant. I don't have an airbrush so I used that food color spray in a can to color the buttercream blue. Won't do that again!

Yes, that is a finger print in the front. Nephew could not stay away from the cake. I had it put somewhere I thought was safe, but he managed to climb up to it and was playing around with it. We did not serve the section that he stuck his finger into.
