The Very Hungry Caterpillar cake. The story pieces surrounding the cake, with the holes from the caterpillar eating his way through, were all hand made from fondant, gum paste and royal icing. The body was airbrushed to try to obtain the unique artistic style of Eric Carle. The body is a white strawberry cake with multi-colored confetti throughout and the head is a big rice crispy treat covered with fondant. The grass is green tinted shredded coconut.
