For the same party as the Crown Royal cake, I was also asked to make a welcome home cake for a guy who is an insane baseball fan. The mitt and ball are made from fondant covered rice krispy treats. Each piece of stitching on the baseball is an individual piece of rolled fondant...that took awhile! The brim of the hat is fondant, but the entire hat is made of chocolate and vanilla cake, filled with buttercream, then covered in fondant. The idea of the hat came from Colette Peters book.
