Polka Dotted Puppy

I made this puppy for my daughters 2nd birthday. She loves puppies and I wanted it to be girly. The dents in it are from my husband putting it in the fridge but I thought it was still cute and my daughter loved it. Iced in Buttercream with fondant polka dots, nose, ears, and eyes. Thanks for looking. Also wanted to say thanks to thegrrrl for inspiration. Her cake was adorable. I made a 9x13, a 3D wilton egg pan(both halves of the pan) and a 9 in round. I laid the 9x13 down first and then put one half of the egg pan on top to form the back end of the puppy. I carved around the egg shaped down through the 9x13. I Iced that smooth and then cut the 9 in round in half and stacked it on itself and put that at the front of the 9x13 to start forming the muzzle of the puppy. I then took the other half of the egg and cut it in half and put the pieces back to back to form the top of the head. I did put a wooden dowel through the front of the forehead through into the body to hold it in place and used scraps from carving under the egg pan head part to support it. I did carve the 9 in round stacked to get the shape I wanted for the muzzle. For the legs I poured cake batter into four of my everyday tall water glasses and baked the cake in those. I put the glasses filled with cake batter on a cookie sheet and filled the glasses 3/4 full. I baked it at 350 and just checked it every 10 min. until a butter knife came out clean. I used michele foster's fondant recipe and used that to make the ears, eyes, and polka dots. I hope this helps.
