This was for an 80th birthday party. I used curved pillar and covered them with fondant. i used crazy glue and stuck them to a thick enough board that would support the middle weight with out it dropping in the middle. Everything is edible. I even made a small piece of chalk. The balls spelled out Happy Birthday, of course I had an extra ball as well as the white and black ball.
