I used a 9x11 pan, with the durable 3d cake mix recipe from this site. He's free-hand carved, and I used rolled fondant for his body and eyes. The edge and shorts are done in decorator icing, and I used writing gel for the face details. This was for my son's 5th birthday, he asked for Patrick for several months.
