This is the biggest cake disaster I have ever had. :( I had 40 hours of work in this cake. All four sides and the top were hand painted to show places that each of the cub scout dens had gone to throughout the year. After finishing the cake I left it on the counter next to the window. Through the course of the night the cake got invaded by hundreds of ANTS!! I picked it up to put it on top of the other two layers and ants poured out of it. My three teired cake instantly turned into a two teired cake. Luckily the paintings were done on fondant and ended up being okay once I scraped off the buttercream and threw away the cake.
