This was the cake I made for my mom's 50th. I didn't want to do any coffins or anything like that, so I made her a "beach" cake since she was born and raised right by Lake Michigan. I used piping gel for the water, graham cracker sand, soft peppermint beachballs, and flattened salt water taffy (don't ever try that, BTW. Way more hassle than it was worth) for the beach towels. The space to the left is where the "beach bon fire" of candles were! TFL!
