This was a cake I did for someone who had completed the 28 day program for Alcohol Rehab. He has a favorite tea set that is black and red with the black bamboo so the colour scheme was taken from that. Everything was free hand, which I obviously need to practice! The design on the side of the cake is the design found on the tea cups. It's the Chinese character for Faith. The script reads 'Faith...In yourself, In others, In God. The Bamboo is all gum paste. The cake is WASC usuing coconut milk instead of water, with the red buttercream, and the piping is done with RI. Since I know the person who is now on his way to bright future of sobriety, this cake had some special meaning for me...it's not perfect I still need some practice, but I tried so hard to make it great!
