I tried to keep it simple but elegant since this was my first cake. the plan was to save money and do my own cake, my husbands idea. Needless to say, if I ever get married again (not that Im planning on it) I am most definitely NOT doing my own cake. way too stressful, lol. anyway, I didnt know about royal vs. butter cream at that point so the snowflakes were piped butter cream on waxed paper ahead of time. they all broke and I ended up free handing them on the cake. The topper was made out of Christmas tree ornaments and decorations (cost me like 4 bucks, hehe). Also, I could figure out a way hold up the top layer without sticking dows up the clear supports and ruining the looks so it was just set up there an hoped it didnt fall off.
