This was a request by an 8 yr old boy who loves playing Xbox. He wanted his cake to look like his video game cover! I nearly fell over! Cake was covered in buttercream, then I made a paper template of the Master Chief and cut the template into "puzzle" pieces. Then cut the fondant in the shape of the pieces. Put them together on the cake, and piped the edges in buttercream. Was very happy to have this cake finished! What a chore, but it made my day when the little boy was so happy!
