This is my daughters graduation cake when she graduated from college. I learned from this cake to put a layer of cardboard covered with foil between each book for support. The bottom layer is a sheet cake with the books each a layer of cake, the hat is a round cake with the top of the hat is cardboard coverd with fondant. the diploma is fondant roled up. everything else is buttercream.
