This cake was so much fun to make. My son's only request was that I make the ball look like its hitting the pins and knocking them down for a strike. Since he was turning 7 and wanted a strike, I created the sign to say just that. The bowling pins and lane are fondant as well as the stars around the side of the cake. The icing is buttercream and the small balls are gumballs. The was created by covering a piece of cardboard with fondant and then using BC to write on it. I taped wooden sticks to the back of the cardboard and stuck them into the cake to hold it up. The flavor of the cake was chocolate and vanilla swirl.
