Entered this cake into a cake show and took first place. Gum paste roses, bow and ribbon. I used a plastic impression quilting sheet on the fresh covered fondant cake dummy. Since I covered both tiers at once with fondant, I wrapped one in saran wrap until I was ready to apply the quilting sheet so the fondant would stay soft. I have also used a square cookie/gum paste/fondant cutter from wiltons and bent it just a little bit to make a diamond shape for the quilted look. This takes much longer. I have also done this cake in homemade crusting butter cream.
