Rose Cascade In Light Pink, Light Blue And White

Rose Cascade In Light Pink, Light Blue And White on Cake Central

This is one of 2 wedding cakes I made a couple of weekends before the hurricane hit us. This was a very last minute wedding cake order (1 week prior to the wedding). Her colors were light pink, light blue and white. For the cake, I used the super enhanced cake recipe from here.

Each layer was 4+ inches. All of my cakes are a very generous 4" tier in just the cake then when icing is added, it's probably between 4 1/2" to 5" tall.

I love this cake! How did you get the buttercream roses to stick to the sides of the cake? I've tried to do this before by my roses won't stick.

Thank you :) I put a glob of icing behind them and insert a toothpick through the center of the rose. I take another toothpick and gently push it in until you can't see it anymore and leave just enough to keep the rose securely in place. I just make sure and tell whoever is serving or whoever is there when I deliver the cake that I have toothpicks inserted in the roses so they'll know :)
