Usually dirt cakes are finely ground Oreo's layered with a chocolate/cream cheese filling. I modified the recipe by adding a deep layer of devil's food cake broken into small pieces. I also added more butter and cream cheese to the filling so that it was more of a mousse. The Oreo cookies were simply sprinkled on top. I garnished with gummy worms & insects. It was actually quite delicious and I will make it again, but as a trifle next time...without the bugs! Maybe I'll add some sugar flowers to the top.
