First Cake Ever
Ok, this is my first cake ever. I got a cake decorating kit for Christmas from my sister-in-law and have been so excited to try it out. The cake is a pineapple cake with buttercream icing. I know it's hideous, but most first tries are right. The color scheme was not planned and this was not used for anything. We actually didnt even eat it, although I did try a piece and it was very good. My icing got runny when I mixed in the food color. Any suggestings to keep that from happening?
Welcome to the world of cake decorating! When mixing icing colors, you need to use products specifically created for icing. You can find these products at your local craft store or cake supply store.
Did you use liquid food coloring?
yea I used liquid food coloring...I guess I shouldnt have ey?
You need to use icing color, it is more pastey. Also if your icing is too soft you need to add more powered sugar.
