Anniversary Gift Cake
Made for a 24th wedding anniversary. The wedding colors were peach and blue - remember those days? :) I can totally see this cake in pink and blue for a baby shower! All bc, ribbon bow.

Beautifully done! I don't think I've ever seen the gift box done in buttercream. It works really well with your dot border marking the box lid. I really like this idea -- into faves.
Love this! It is so pretty! Is the icing for the "lid" actually applied thicker or is that an illusion? Favorite! :) :)
Yes, the lid is just a thick layer of bc piped around the top edge w/ the smooth side of a basketweave tip, then smoothed into shape using a Viva papertowel. I added the bead border on the edge of the lid to help define the edge and make it more noticeable - looks like it worked, haha. Thanks for the kind words!
Gosh, I really love this! I prefer bc cakes since I find most like the flavor better than fondant. I was wondering if the gift box could be done effectively w/ bc...it can! Into faves! :)
