This is BEAUTIFUL!! You can't just put this on here without details! :D Pearl string is probably fondant?? Is the ribbon real or fondant?? Great job!!!
Sorry for the delay in replying to your questions....what with the crash and I was gone for a couple of days...... Anyway, yes, the details are all fondant. I used a First Impressions mold and a bead mold for the detail. The circles at the top of the egg are just plain old cookie cutters in graduated sizes. The original Faberge egg had a crystal at the apex of the egg....I used another First Impressions mold to make a round decoration with rosebud impressions.
BAY-BAY, to get it shiny I just dusted the pink fondant with super pearl dust. The details were painted with a mix of Everclear and gold highlighter dust. The lily and ivy are gumpaste. I covered the cake board with fondant (I used a rose-impression rolling pin) and tried to give it a drapey look when I laid it on the board.
Beautiful! It looks just like a Faberge egg... fanastic details and work!
