oh this is terrific! I love whimsical cakes and never would have thought about doing one for a wedding cake. I love it...thanks for the inspiration. someday maybe I'll get the courage to attempt one. Hope it's 1/2 as nice as yours...

beautfiul design! it looks like your white fondant needed more smoothing. I only point that out b/c if you can get your base fondant smoother, then this cake would look like it was made by a pastry chef. It is so elegant!

Thanks Bubblemom, don't worry it didn't go on anyones table it's only a practice cake to see ifI could do a whimsical design. Next time I won't post my practice cakes. I was a little proud of it so I put it out there.

You have every right to be proud! I am also a newbie and am still learning. We just bought a digital camera so I will now be able to post pics of my practice cakes.

When I first saw the picture of your cake I thought it was for the contest. I was surprised to find out that it wasn't. I think you did a wonderful job.

Hello, I love this cake too. I am very new and just tried my first MMF cake this weekend. Do you have any tips and tricks to share. It came out OK. What did you use to stick the balls on the cake with? I had a fold in the bake of the cake..did you? Do you have any tips and things you would try differently next time?

I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your practice cake. My daughter hopes that mine will look more like yours one day. Great Job!

oh my gosh it is beautifull!!!! i have yet to muster up the courage to make a lopsided cake, but dang i sure do want to, maybe i should buy that book, does it tell how to make the cake, lopsided? i read instructions on here posted by BKEITH? and go lost hahhaa, i wish i could get with you and take a class, hahah, mine will probaly turn out lopsided more than expected hahaah GREAT JOB
