This is a practice football cake for my son's first birthday party. I'm a beginner. It's a yellow box cake mix iced with buttercream. The chocolate is chocolate buttercream on the football and the border. This is my first time working with fondant and I learned how to work with it so I'll be prepared for the party. Also, I used number cutouts from a cookie cutter set I have. I'm planning to get the Wilton number and letter cutouts before his party, so the numbers won't be so large on the yard lines.
