This is my first attempt at Italian Merengue buttercream. I could not get it smooth enough- any comments, advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm thinking for smoothness I may not use this frosting recipe anymore, too many air pockets. Cake is 6" Devil's food. It is for a cocktail party toe night :) Thanks for looking.

I've never used IMBC before, but I've heard that people use a warm spatula to do the final smoothing. You might check the forums for topics about this. The cakes look yummy.

Thanks!! Good call on the spatula, I actually posted this question yesterday ad someone gave me that idea! I will try that next time. thanks :)
