Superman Birthday Cake

guy on couch has same characteristics as the person that was having the birthday- they wanted superman theme but personalized, so I came up with this. Everything on top is gumpaste. White cake with yellow bc icing and surrounded by red and blue cupcakes. The screen t.v. actually has superman flying in the air. :) TFL

Critique group member: Wow! This is so cool! All the details on the man are amazing! The only thing I would critique is that it looks like the tv stand is sinking into the cake.

Critique group member: Very cool! I love the Superman on the tv. You mentioned the top of the cake was crowded, I don't think it is. It looks fine, it really does! Your bc is amazingly smooth. My only critique was that there didn't seem to be any seperation between his legs (he looks like a mermaid), but now that I look at it I'm thinking his legs are crossed?! Can't really tell from this view. Overall presentation is really good.

Critique Subgroup Member: The design is not too crowded. I like the birthday plaque triangle shape--good carry-though of Superman design. Does the birthday boy have an old couch? I can see extra spaces where you put pieces together. If meant for actual detail--good job. If not, you might try coloring some of that icing brown so it's not as noticible. I love the guy's hair.

Critique subgroup member: This is adorable. Your design is so fun and your theme is well incorporated. Your use of primary colors in all your cakes is wonderful. The couch has a couple of gaps but I bet nobody noticed them. Bravo.

critque group member. This is fantastic. I love the tv w/ superman too cool. My suggestions would be to cover the gaps on the couch with icing and to make the guys legs a bit more defined. I love the plaque your writing is perfect! Awesome cake

Critique Group Member: LOL - this is sooo cute! As far as the gaps in the couch, they're probably true to his own since he obviously is a "couch potato" - LOL. I imagine his couch is worn out. All your gumpaste work is fantastic. My only critique concerns the cupcakes. They look a bit "blah" next to that great cake. Maybe next time try to either dress them up a bit more or make them smoother. GREAT JOB!
