Snow Family Picnic

Critique subgroup member: The snowman family campout took place this winter in the Candy Cane forest. Mr and Mrs. Snowman along with their daughter Frostina and thei kitties, Snowball and Icing had a lovely time sitting by the fire telling stories. Decorations are all fondant.

Critique subgroup member: something about the trees I just adore- they are so simple and go perfectly with your scene. your flames are very original. I love how they bow. And I think the crushed pepperment is a fabulous detail!

Critique subgroup member: Lots on this vinette. Maybe a bit less would have worked for me, but I love simplicity. The logs look like poo....need detail. Your fire is fantastic as is your snowmen. Have you tried snipping your trees for detail? These seem sorta Charm City to me and they don't put enough detail in the small pieces for me If interested, I can send you a pix of snipped trees just PM me.. :wink:

Critique group member: Too cute! The snowmen and fire look amazing! However I think the peppermint chips make it kind of busy and I would have liked to see more detail on the logs and trees.

Critique Group Member: All your characters are so cute. I'm not crazy about the crushed candy canes but then when I read your description I understood why you have them there. One way to remedy the candy cane and tree issue would be to adorn the trees with candy canes. That would help to still tie in the theme. I like how you made the fire. That's really neat.

Critique Group Member: i agree that the crushed candies make it seem a bit messy and that the trees are very Charm City (I have the same gripe about them as tiptop). I do love the fun feel of your figures and the fire is great! Maybe use something other than toothpicks for the arms though? They wold be more substantial made of fondant to look like the darker wood on the rest of the cake.

critique subgroup member: very cute idea! I have to agree with the others, the snowmen are adorable, and the fire is awesome, very realistic. I think the crushed peppermint candy makes a messy look, not clean and percise. I also have to agree that the trees could have used a bit more definition. I also think the cake board should have been a bit bigger, and the cake could have been centered a bit more, as the bottom border (which I love by the way) is closer to the left edge than to the right edge
