I painted on the chocolate pretty thick & it really helped to stick them in the fridge & take them out one at a time. The candy melts are softer. If I were going white or brown & think I would use almond bark b/c it sets up better.
I made a cake similar, but although it was cool looking the kids did not care for the chocolate gnache...what can you do to make that tastier and something little ones would love?

Thanks. They were so easy & it was yum. We ate some tonight & my dh said to give it away b/c he would eat it all. That's what I like to hear.
Beautiful (and looks quite yummy!). Yes - your chocolate leaves are terrific - they are so delicate (how did you get these to not break!?).
