Surfer Baby
I made this cake for a surfer/Hawaiian themed baby shower. The decorations are sugar paste and chocolate rocks; the sand is raw sugar spun in the blender; the water is gel icing.
I made this cake for a surfer/Hawaiian themed baby shower. The decorations are sugar paste and chocolate rocks; the sand is raw sugar spun in the blender; the water is gel icing.
The wave is several layers of cake that I carved slightly to get the angle of the wave. I learned the hard way that you can't do too much of an overhang on the wave or it will crack in the back from the weight. I ended up with a lot of dowels in it to keep it up!
This is SO CUTE! I love the water and I absolutely ADORE the pacifier in the babies mouth. It is just SO CUTE! BTW, could you tell us what you made the wave out of?
