Rose Bouquet

Rose Bouquet on Cake Central

I was asked by my friend to do something different for her daughter's bridal shower. Chocolate cake (baked in an 8" bowl) with Kahlua bc filing -- fondant /gumpaste roses and leaves. These 25 roses took me almost 2 hours but it was still easier and more enjoyable than hydrangeas! I'll practice flowers more when I get the metal gp tools and cutters recommended by ShirleyW. TFL!

Quite beautiful .... the bride must have been thrilled! It'd have taken me 2 days to do those flowers - I think 2 hours is pretty amazing!

Yes 2 hours is amazing for making those beautiful roses. It would have taken me a whole day. What did you make the roses with? They are gorgeous. What a great idea for a cake. I would like to see the bottom of the cake.

Wow..thanks for the positive comments! These are my first roses, which were only done because I can't get my hydrangea cutter to work properly. I just cut out cirlces, smoothed the top edges and stuck the petals together...they dried on the cake (50/50 of gum paste and fondant). Thanks again for the nice words :-)
