Girls Night Out

Girls Night Out on Cake Central

White Almond Sour Cream Cake with Bailey's Irish Cream Filling. Done for a Girls Night Out Party. First time I tried doing a diamond pattern - by hand (will order a mat!) and the first time I tried the curly things and the wire with the RI dots. Very fun to do... learning experience for sure. I had to add the leaves as fillers as it looked so plain,.. and I stuck my finger in the black icing on the edge so I had to cover my mistake... can you find it! Now I just can't wait for the party!!! Enjoy!!

very nicely done. i can't believe you actually cut the diamonds without the mat. they look perfect. was it very time consuming?

Thanks for the comments all. The diamonds were free hand. I just marked off at 1 inch intervals and then alternated the lines in both directions using a straight edge. Less time consuming than a basket weave but a steady hand was in order. I would prefer a mat in the future, but I got to try doing some of the 'fun' stuff you don't always see on a flat cake with all the stuff coming out of the top. Thanks again.

Paula, I love this cake! Makes me want a girls night out! Your diamonds are perfect and I love the topper on this cake. Great color scheme, too!
