Garden Cake
Grabbed bits of inspiration from here and there on CC...thanks everyone! 8" cake, pots are 3" cake and cupcake to give you an idea on size. It was fun making these tiny pots of flowers, I love the mums. Everything else is fondant and handpainted (gotta order some edible markers!). I thought it was kinda busy but then I guess real gardens tend to be busy too! Thanks for looking. Constructive criticisms welcomed!

Overall this creation is fantastic:) Wonderful attention to detail. If I HAD to give criticism I note a slight bulge where the two layers come together. Might be using too much filling?
I appreciate your comment...lately I have been battling the bulge and it makes me soooo :x I could scream!I don't know what the problem is...I always use a dam 1/4 inch inside the edge and I don't use a lot of filling cuz i don't like it. Any tips???
How did you paint on the fondant? Whenever I try the colours bleed into the fondant.
Love it! so cute! in addition to the obvious, I love the addition of the birdhouse. as for the bulging, make I was advised to make sure you chill your cake, and let firm up, esp. before frosting.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I don't like coveringmy cakses with fondant but I sure like playing with it...I feel like a kid playing with play-doh! :D

This is so cute and creative. I didn't notice the bulge either, without reading the comments. My fav is the gloves, they are adorable. The whole presentation is perfectly awesome :D .
What an awsome cake, I do was having a problem with my filling bulging. Now I just remove a small amount of cake from the bottom layer, leaving a 1/2 inch border, put filling in and no bulges. Hope this helps. And yes this is now is my favs. :D
