Thanks for the great comments!! Hubby's in the army - can you tell??? As for "smoothing" the icing, after I used my spatulas to put on the different icings, I waiting until it crusted up a bit and usd a paper towel to smooth it all out. Then put the 3 colors in an icing bag and did the boarder. I was happy with how it turned out, too. Thanks again!

I think this cake is right on target. It's easy to get sloppy with a camo motif, but yours is understated, and perfect.
