thanks to all for your wonderful accolades! as to the questions that were raised: one, i didn't make the flowers in advance; i piped them directly onto the cake. the only things i made in advance were the few royal icing raspberries which are poking out of the top. and as for the ginger buttercream, nothing too fancy: just some cut up candied ginger added to a meringue buttercream! with a tiny bit of grand marnier to jazz it up a bit.
