Thanks. I spent about 12 hours figuring out all my alternatives and finally decided to trace a photocopy of the lettering with chalk paper and a stylus, then used luster dust and everclear.

Thank you all for your kind words of support. This honestly was my second cake. I've been reading, thinking and planning about nothing but CAKES for a couple of months. And all the shared info on CC has been invaluable! Y'all are all awesome!

wow!!!! You are certainly a natural, and those books look real! Is the legal pad real or did you ake it too...one of my favs....triple Kudos!!!!! ;-D

The legal pad (and that's the second one I had to make) is the same 50/50 mix. When people from the office (a HUGE law firm) would come to our floor and say that someone told them to come see the cake, they'd ask where it was. One of us would nod three feet away to the stack of books on the table. They were flabbergasted. The law librarian almost cried, but then so did I. Thanks, everyone.

absolutely awesome!!!! These are some of the most realistic "book" cakes I have ever seen!!! Awesome job!
