First Foundant Wedding Cake (A Disaster) on Cake Central

This was my first foundant wedding cake. It turned out very pretty. I was so proud!. When we were putting it on the table at the wedding the third layer of the cake collasped. I did everything like tihe books tells you to. How can I prevent this is the future? Help!!

That is beautiful! Is each cake two layers? They look higher than two. I don't know if this helps but, when I do large, stacked cakes I add an extra egg & a box of instant pudding to each cake mix. It seems to make the cake a little moister & less likely to crack. Your cake is just beautiful. I have never done fondant, I am scared to death of it! The cake & flowers are gorgeous!

This is beautiful...so sorry for your mishap. I use the recipe in the cake dr. cookbook. 4 eggs, 1c.milk and oil, and 1 bx. instant pudding. I have not had one cake split on me... u can do anything to these things, yet they taste so moist and good. Good Luck
