Oh so tired. It's been a long week, and I'm not feeling to hot. Trying to press through this as much as I can tonight. So far this week I've done 2 cupcake orders, 2 cake orders, and I'm working on two 1/2 sheet cakes tonight. It's pretty much been 1-2 orders per day this week. I just ran out of frosting so I'm debating on whether or not it's time to go to bed and regroup in the morning or pull it together tonight. The one I have left is a Dora and Diego cake, thankfully...
When I first started there was a page that listed most of them. I even bookmarked it. It was http://cakecentral.com/acronyms   not sure if it is a temporary thing that it is not working.    Moderators does this list still exist somewhere?
Corrie76 is the best!    I use to be embrassed to admit I did sheet cake based on the vile reaction to them sometimes on the forum. But people like them because they are easy to cut and transport and it is what they are familiar with. Corrie inspired me to step up my game, because after all if you are going to be in the business you need to be well rounded. My shell borders still need a lot of work.     I will admit it is harder for me to do a sheet cake than a...
Batterup! I love it. I'll take one in black, red, white, and the natural wood you have pictured. Hmmm, mahogany would be nice too.
I love it! Can you share a picture of your cake stand? I'd love to see it! I really need a good sturdy one.
Time for bed, but not before I check in.   Here's the Caillou cake, the party was also trained themed so I tried to work them both in on this cake. This was the first time I did a fondant "person".      Next up, Star Wars.  I was supposed to do plastic figurines for the entire cake but I couldn't find Leia. This 6-year old was very specific she want Darth Vader, Luke, and Leia. I told the mom, I didn't think I could pull Leia off in fondant, nor did I have...
Cat, what a lovely cake and a story to match the beauty.   As for me, I'm 2/3's of the way there. This week everyone wanted 3D figurines. Never done them before, one turned out decent (Caillou for a 3-year old) and the other I don't like at all (Leia for a Star Wars themed cake).     So I finished the Caillou cake and the Star Wars cake. One left to go, my first gender reveal cake. By the way, the doctor didin't call me until 5:30pm today, the party is at 2:00pm...
designer stencils sells a chevron stencil. You can stencil buttercream on buttercream. Or you can use an impression mat like the cake I did here.
Cazza, how did I miss that Happy Birthday!   DeliciousDesserts, absolutely, positively stunning! Five hours, Whoa! My eyes would be crossed forever.   OT, what a gorgeous cake.   I don't understand the mustache thing either, but I love your cakes sixinarow.   The flat tops are new for me since I got my Agbay. I use it on everything, I love, love, love Agbay! So easy and I don't even need to chill my cakes before torting. It saves me a lot of time, strike...
Cat, very nice! I can't wait to see the others.   Cazza, that is really pretty and the base you used for the photo is just perfect.   It is a light week for me. Two sheet cakes, one a SpongeBob themed and the other for a swimming party.  I started not to take the Spongebob order because the customer wanted an exact replica of a Decopac/grocery store cake.  She said her daughter wanted a normal looking grocery store cake, and I really wasn't enthusiastic about...
