Maybe do a "gift" box. With a tag saying, Our Love, the perfect gift! Happy Anni - Birthday! ?
Honestly, sometimes Brides are never COMPLETELY and TOTALLY , PERFECTLY satisfied.... even if everything turned out amazing! Your cake was GORGEOUS!!!
Divine CC... to answer your question about the Cherry pudding. Its made by Jelly Belly, and sold at Kroger (here in Texas anyway). I wouldn't advise using the cherry yogart, as the recipe calls for vinegar - may put too much of that "tangy" taste. And may cause the cake not to rise properly. I have, however, substituted the cherry pudding with chocolate/vanilla swirled pudding and used Cherry Dr Pepper instead. It was still very good, but was a little too chocolate for my...
Every month, I have a "cake testing" party. I try out new recipes and ideas, and have about 20 - 25 people (usually repeative customers) come taste and give me their honest opinons. Who better to ask than your customers, right? OK, I know as soon as I post this people are going to think, "Cake mix? What kind of baker is she, anyway?" But PLZ take my word for it... this is by far the best Red Velvet Cake recipe I have tried. (And I have tried ALOT!!!) Everyone loves it!!...
Phew! I finally got this cake figured out... and finished. I think it turned out good. My camera was completely dead so had to take pics with my phone, so its not the greatest pictures. I precut the fondant to dry, so it would be nice and stiff, not to hang down over the "pages". I was going for the antique silver look... tried a new technique.I also posted a picture of the real book. Please give feedback. Thanks.
Not sure whats happening with the picture. I have tried several times to post it. Its to be a closed book. And its coiled. I am also stunned on how to make the book cover look like "stone." I know the right coloring technique, but I am concerned that cake wouldnt be sturdy enough to look like I want it to.
I forgot the attachment...sorry.
Maybe I just woke up with my head in the clouds this morning, but I honestly can not figure out the best way to execute this cake idea. I have done a few "book" cakes before, but this one has me stumped. My customer wants as close to the "Book of Shadows" as I can get it. The book is not very thick, and is "coil binded". I have to feed at least 40 people with this cake. Any suggestions? I have attached a picture of the book. BTW, the cake is due Friday!!! Why do they...
I just wanted to give a big E-hug to all of you who made so many WONDERFUL suggestions for this cake! I loved all of the ideas, and incorporated many of those ideas into the final cake plan! It turned out perfect and the customer absolutely adored it! I have posted several pics so plaz take a look and let me know what you think! THANKS AGAIN!!
I have seen so many amazing ideas here on Cake Central... so decided to some to you guys for a little help. I have done some very RARE cakes in my day, but never as far fetched as this one! Customer wants monkeys and pequins on the same cake, somehow "working together?" Her son LOVES monkeys and penquins... and I am totally stumped! Any ideas? I thought of a 2 teired cake, top monkey/island theme, bottom penquin/ice? Or made monkeys come to visit the penquins at their...
