We already have a supposed requirement for a new user to have their first two posts approved before they appear.   The way it would work is, as long as the account was created in the last 5 days, all posts they make would be held in moderation until at least 2 were approved.   For whatever reason this system is not taking place, I have a message in to Huddler to find out why this approval process no longer seems to be in effect.
no its not hacking, its spamming.  Has nothing to do with security being compromised.
I have a feeling a lot of people will come back with that. Not surprisingly I was identified as a Tech Buff.
Hi everyone!   Here at CakeCentral, we’re always looking for ways to get to know each member of our community family better. And so, we’ve got a fun and easy personality quiz for you to take!   Are you a Film Addict, a Tech Guru, or maybe a Comic Book Fanatic? This quiz is simple, fun, and completely anonymous. Answer questions by clicking on an image that best describes you. Once you’ve completed the quiz, it’ll generate your custom profile.   Love your quiz...
Please send me a PM with your order information and I will take care of it for you.
Thank you for sharing your ideas.  Some of them are doable, some are not.  We do not have the ability to scan a post for keywords and then recommend threads or articles on the topic.  That would actually be pretty resource intensive both in programming time and computational power to provide at scale. (But it would be pretty cool) The recognition type stuff is something we have been discussing internally and trying to figure out the best implementation, but definitely...
Could you expand on what you mean by "serious rule adjustments" ?
I have to disagree.  This is not about growing the member base to increase revenues.  This is amount the ever increasing volume of emails we are receiving from new visitors expressing that they were made to feel unwelcome or humiliated in their initial interactions on the site.  This is not caused by the majority of members, but there are some members who can be unnecessarily harsh or unwelcoming. We care just as much about existing members as new members, but more...
I would not say that you cannot mention banned members, I think the point is that we don't want forum threads dedicated to lamenting the banishment of someone who took actions that resulted in banishment.  I do not like to banish people and I fully recognize that sometimes when we banish someone we also lose some amount of value and knowledge that person might have.  It is the unfortunate loss that comes with also not tolerating certain actions.  There are the things that...
I am not specifically proposing that we have a special forum, just throwing ideas out to get the conversation going, the point of the thread is to get a lot of ideas flowing in and hear what the users think would work or not. While I agree regulating negative behavior is a key component, it is not the only component that needs to be addressed.  Organization of information, learning how CC works through screenshot tours, welcome messages, welcome committees, etc, are all...
