Went way outside my comfort zone on this one -- but what is a cake decorating mother to do for her now 5 year old princess loving daughter?
This thing had me in tears more than once -- but I kept plugging on and the final product was better than even I had imagined. I had people at the party place putting their kids in front of the cake and taking pictures! Whatever!
The princess was stunned and mommy is way tired....
Thanks for looking...a little bit about the cake which is inspired from a bunch of cakes from Cake Central and various cake artists. The hill is styrofoam covered in white fondant and painted. The turrets are paper towel holders, topped with cake cones and covered in white fondant -- then a sugar cones was covered in white fondant and dusted pink and white sparkle. The cake is a 9 inch square 6.6 inches tall (white chocolate cake with buttercream filling) and the top layer is a 6 inch round 4 inches tall (same cake flavors) -- accents are done in buttercream. Sugar cubes as the edging on the castle....whew....
You should be so very proud Mommy!! It is amazing and I am sure your daughter was thrilled!!
LOVE IT!
Wow - this is/was an awsome cake. I can see why you worked so hard, it was really a piece of artwork. I'm sure your little darling just loved the cake. Did you get any orders at the party, ha, ha?
Keep up the great work!
I am floored. That is just beautiful! I am sure you are tired though! Congratulations on her birthday and on a BEAUTIFUL cake!
Perfect for any little princess, she must have loved it and all her little birthday guests are going to want one just like it. It is really lovely.
beautiful! after all that i would have been like get the hockeysticks away from the cake!
Your cake is so pretty, I love it! No wonder people were taking pictures with it. You don't see cakes like that at every kids party.
What a great mom you are! You made her a cake she'll never forget and that's priceless!
Great job!
Splendid!! great job done here and lucky princess, i guess all your tiredness must have vanished in a split second when your little princess said that WOW!!!
Utterly utterly wonderful! You have raised the bar for yourself, and certainly reached it. Now, are you thinking about your next great labor of love?
Wow that cake is outstanding!!! Great Job Mom, I am sure she was in love with it!

Your cake is exquisite. I am planning on doing a similar cake for my daughter's birthday. She is turning 19!!! Once a princess, always a princess, I guess I am only doing the actual cake and the princesses will be looking out the windows of the turrets.
just beautiful!! I had a princess cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday last year. I ended up paying $100 for someone ELSE to do it because i didn't know how. Now i can't wait for her birthday this year to see what i can do!
YOU ROCK MOM!!
great job! oh and thanks alot!! (did you hear the sarcasim?) My soon-to-be 4 yr old is standing by me and saw your cake. She says "Wow Mom I want you to make me that cake". She has no idea I am not THAT good at this cake thing yet. Thanks for sharing, you did a great job.
Fabulous; you really know how to make a little girl's dreams come true . I can't wait to do one for my granddaughter
