I am wanting to try to do a cake with preserves in the middle instead of icing, and I'm wanting to ice it with Whipped Cream icing. Has anyone ever tried to flavor the whipped icing with preserves? I was thinking white cake, strawberry preserve filling, and strawberry whipped icing. What do ya think? Will it work?

I used it for a baby shower cake this weekend. I used smuckers raspberry seedless it turned out wonderful. It was light and fluffy with a light wine color from preserves. Hope this helps
