Hi

when I bake in my 3inch high tins I always line the bottom and sides with baking paper but about 80% of the time the baking paper in the sides moves up during baking and when I take the cake out there is an indent where it has moved up. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know to to prevent it??

i do use spray oil to stick it to the tin also

When you say you use spray to stick it ot the tin is that on the pan, before adding the paper or after?  Maybe you need to use solid shortening instead?  Don't know as I have never had that problem - that I can remember.......I almost never used baking paper to line my pans.
