Has anyone made cupcakes in the shape of a frog? I just had an order for one and was wondering how many cupcakes it will take. I'm thinking 2 1/2 to 3 dozen?
Would love any tips or suggestions.
Thanks,
Sharon
Take Empty cupcake papers and put them together to form the shape you are looking for...
You will know exactly how many you will need that way and an idea of the finished project...
Take a photo of the empty wrappers... use it as your guide later so you don't have to try and remember...
Ditto, AAtKT....that is exactly what I do. I find the foil lined wrappers hold their shape the best when manipulating them (moving them around). Some of the flimsy ones will flare out eventually and I don't like to use them then.
And most importantly was the bit about taking a photo. I have had to refer to mine several times to see how I got the shape previously.
Pulled this one from Google...looks like they used about 18 cupcakes, but if you need more, just make a bigger frog...or two frogs :) [postimage id="7448" thumb="900"]
Thanks 640Cake! I would have liked a few more cupcakes around the bottom (belly) but needed room for the happy birthday. I also tucked a few mini cupcakes in the gaps.
