Can't get to the store to buy any Tylos and was wondering if anyone has used Wiltons Gum-Tex Tylos Powder instead of the Tylos?  If so, is it an equal amount to what the recipe calls for?

I've used it, @Cookie4 ‍and the only difference I could detect was the color.  Gum paste made with Gum-Tex is a little more tan than gum paste made with Tylose powder.  Yes, substitute in equal amounts.

@sandrasmiley I made a batch but it seemed more grainy, did you have that problem?

I honestly do not remember, @Cookie4 ‍.  I started out with Wilton's Gum-Tex, but started ordering Tylose Powder from eBay, which was much cheaper, and have not used it in a long time.  I just remember that it worked fine, although I prefer the white color of Tylose.  Hope it works OK for you.
