Hi there

i came across Jusmin Rae amaizing cakes. Does any one know how does she get the cracked finish of the fondant? And the old stone  look effect?

Thank you!

I pulled up her cakes on Google and I haven't a clue how she achieved what she called a crackle effect. It may possibly be done with wafer paper, but I couldn't see well enough to determine.

To me i it looks like gumpaste on fondant. The she applied color dust to give it some effect. Check for Angela Morrison Crackled effect tutorial in youtube ;)

I have used Angela Morrison technique several times and it gives a nice, weathered wood sort of effect (that is what I was thinking of when I referenced wafer paper) but Jasmin's cakes don't look anything like that to me.  They almost look like she used royal icing like plaster on a wall.

I went back and stared some more and a lot of her textures are created with very thin sheets of gum paste and others with wafer paper.  I am loving her work!!!
