I want to make a "shirt" cake, which I've done before. However, this cake needs to be plaid.  If I put an edible image sheet on flat fondant, can I then put the fondant on the cake or does this not work.

You want to put the image on after you put the fondant on. You'll ruin the image when trying to smooth the fondant out.

That's kind of what I figured, but have never used the edible images before.  Thanks very much for your response.  I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. Edible images are easy to use, I love them, but because they stick to whatever they are on, it would be impossible to smooth. I used one on my daughter's cake and touched it on accident, part of it came off on my finger
