I've seen some recipes use 6 egg whites with a pound of butter and 8 egg whites with a pound of butter. 

Does the amount of egg whites effect the consistency or texture of the IMBC?

The recipe I use calls for 1 cup of egg whites and 1 1/2 pounds of butter.  It usually takes about 10 eggs to get a cup of whites.
