We've cut out food color and FD&C Coloring at our house, can any suggest natural ways to color icing and fondant?
I was thinking berry juices...I'd love to hear some ideas.
"To achieve a naturally blue hue, I suggest you use blueberry juice made from cooked fresh blueberries. Simmer the blueberries until they are soft. Then run them through a food mill or fine mesh strainer to pulverize them and remove the skins and seeds. Use the juice or puree as needed to tint the frosting the desired shade."

The column also mentions beet powder for pink or red, but I'm sure you could use beet juice or any fruit using the same method as above. You might be able to get brown from cherries. Their juice kind of oxidizes to brownish red, I think.
I don't know how it would taste in icing and baked goods, but here's a recipe for chlorophyll, the green coloring in plants. I also don't know what English spinach is.
"For the chlorophyll
1 bunch English spinach, washed and patted dry
Put English spinach through a juicer, then pass through a fine sieve.
Place in a pan on the stove and cook over a low heat until tepid (blood temperature); make sure you do not overheat.
Remove immediately from the stove and pour the liquid into a sieve double-lined with wet cheesecloth.
Place the sieve over a bowl and leave in the fridge overnight to drain the excess water. Scrape off the chlorophyll this should give you about 20 ml or 1 2 fl oz and store in a covered bowl. "
For yellow, you might be able to use saffron
