I know there are many website related posts, but I cannot find one that answers my question.
Lately, I've placed orders with a few non-bakery related items, and it was so frustrating. And the last one, said "Thank you for your order" and told me when to pick it up. Uh...no price. No details. Nothing. It did not ask for my credit card but when I called the local store, the order went through without being paid for. I had to ask for the price, which I found absurd. But imagine how many people don't pick up the orders that they have prepared!
After all that, do you have any advice on making your site user-friendly? I think I've done a pretty good job (still under construction, so no link yet).
Any advice, no matter how small or big, would be appreciated. I'm sorry this is such a broad topic but it's easier than splitting it up into several smaller posts.
Thank you!
I'd say that you should go to a bunch of different websites and make notes of what you liked and didn't like about each one. The layout, menu options, what sections they have, etc. Seeing bad websites is usually the best way to figure out what you want yours NOT to be like.
Sorry, that's not what I meant. I have my site completed but am tweaking it before launching it. I was just hoping for people's ideas on what makes a website more user-friendly. We've all gone to sites where we've ripped our hair out because it had us jump through hoops. I'd like to avoid those.
That's what I'm saying...what do you hate about websites that makes you want to rip your hair out? Now don't do that on yours. Simple menus, obvious links, the obvious things will always be mentioned, but if you know what dries you bonkers when you go to a bad website you can make note of those things and avoid them.
